Pregeistration spots for Otafest Idol are now filled! Those of you that missed the sign up can still register for Otafest Idol on the day of the convention.

Just a little over a month left for Otafest 2009 and we have already begun advertising around Calgary.

Look for Sephonie at the nearest bus stops and train stations near you!

Otafest is pleased to announce that we have been granted the Canadian premier of “Death Note: L, Change the WorLd.”

A little bit of sad news. The Creation Station has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconveniences.

On the brighter side of things, we have a new special guest: THWOMP! Be there to check out their live band performances on your favourite video game tunes!

Other cool stuff introduced this year are the 1337beat Arcade Room, Short Attention Span AMV Contest Showing, Dedicated Otaku Anime Panels, and Haru no Koe Performances!

Just a minor update this week for all participants:

The Otafest Cosplay Idol rules are up. We await your entries!

The song list is availale here to help you decide.

The deadline for early registraion is May 1, 2009, or up to the first 30 participants, for first dibs on song choices! All other entries will be made on the day of the competition once the list has been filled.

So hurry and enter now!

We are now accepting entries for Otafest's AMV Contest! For more rules and inquiries on how to participate, click here.

A new event is about to take place this year called, "FAN ATTACK – A Dodgeball Tournament!" Register now!

Vendor packages will be finalized soon. Keep an eye out for that!

The Otafest 2009 Executive staff has been finalized. Please do not hesitate to contact our staff regarding your inquiries as they are more than happy to assist you.

In addition, the hours of operations/locations have been confirmed for this year and has been updated in the information section of the website.

Admission costs and events have not been determined yet.

Otafest 2008 is over for another year. The executive team would like to thank everyone who came out this year to make 2008 one of our biggest and best so far. With out you, our attendees, volunteers and staff, Otafest would not be around.

Thank you again.

Now, with the past 10 years behind us, it's time to look forward to what the future of Otafest 2009 has in store.
