Us execs are busy packing up tonight's festivities, but I wanted to take a few minutes to sit down and let you all know how much we sincerely appreciate each and every attendee who comes out to our little show every year. You are the heart and soul of our convention and without you we wouldn't put the event on - even more importantly, it wouldn't be so full of spirit and excitement. Otafest Lite is just a taste of things to come and we can't wait to see you all again in May 2012.
I would also like to extend a warm thank you to all of our fabulous volunteers who spend countless hours helping us run our event - they are the true strength behind us.
Thank you all for coming out and we look forward to seeing you soon - not too soon though, we need to get some sleep! ^~
-Stephanie Foran on behalf of the entire Executive body.

I hope you are all getting excited for Otafest Lite 2011! The committee is hard at work getting everything ready to go.
I wanted to let everyone know something very exciting and special ... the Japanese Consulate has invited Otafest to celebrate the Emperor's Birthday on November 24th at a special banquet dinner. I will be attending along with Nathan Hunt, our celebrated Vendor Coordinator. As a community we raised over $10,000 for relief efforts in Japan and because of this we are being recognized. When I say we, I mean the entire Otafest community. Thank you all - so much.
If anyone has any words of support or artwork they would like us to pass on, please send me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will compile these and send them to the Consulate. It has been a while since the disaster but relief efforts are on-going.
Thank you again to our amazing community who showed incredible heart and spirit by donating such a great amount to our favorite place - Japan! If you donated a little or a lot - it is all appreciated, because what may not have mattered to you has mattered immeasurably to families across Japan.
Many thanks and warm hearts,
Stephanie Foran - Special Events Director, Otafest

Nathan Hunt on May 25, 2011 2:32:31 pm'You Give, We Serve'
This year at Otafest 2011, the Otafest executive planning committee was amazed by the generous donations by the Otafest community. For the first time in the history of Otafest, the community rallied together to raise over $10,000 for the Japanese Red Cross to aid in earthquake relief in Japan.
The Otafest executive planning committee challenged our community by putting the dignity of five of our executives on the line by, depending on the amount raised, forcing the executives to don maid outfits for the rest of the convention. The bar was initially set at $5000 to get Otafest's Special Events Coordinator Shawn H, Vendor Coordinator Nathan H, Social Media Coordinator Gareth L, Chairman Justin L, and Animethon's Vlad P dressed up in petite maid outfits for the rest of the convention.
It is safe to say, this goal was shattered by late Saturday night. This forced all planned executives into their elegant outfits by Sunday. That being said, the Otafest community kept on donating to satiate their desire to both help Japan and torture the chosen victims. The committee decided to match this community generosity with executive self-sacrifice by forcing other Otafest executives into maid outfits (with an extra bonus of make-up as well).
Otafest is so amazed by our generous community and wants to thank our loyal fans, volunteers, guests, and contributors for their amazing contributions! Your donations will surely go a long way in helping out our friends in Japan, without which there would be no Otafest. So in the closing words of Otafest Chairman Justin Lo, in his pretty little black dress, makeup and wig, "DAMN YOU for accepting my challenge!"
See you next year!
