On behalf of the volunteers, staff, and executives, I would like to thank you for attending Otafest Aurora this past Saturday. The entire team is honoured by your support and love for the events we put on for you. We are proud to announce that we had 1,716 people join us, giving Otafest Aurora the distinction of being the highest attended one day anime convention in Western Canada in 2013. Without you, Otafest would not be Otafest.
Many who attended were interested in the pins we created for Otafest Aurora. Due to issues with shipment, the pins unfortunately did not arrive in time. As the head of the merchandise team, I too share your disappointment. The art team and I have worked tirelessly over the last 6 months to create an exciting set of pins with beautiful designs and magical surprises. It was very upsetting to know that we would be unable to provide you the pins that you have been patiently waiting for.
Fortunately, the pins will arrive soon and we are going to do everything we can to make sure that you have the opportunity to get them as soon as possible.
For our attendees who live in Calgary and area, we will be announcing a Otafest Aurora Pin Trading release party shortly after the pins arrive. The pins we have previously released will be available to purchase. How we handle staff pins will be determined once we announce the date of the party.
For our attendees who live outside Calgary and area, we will be setting up online purchases so that we can ship your pins to you directly. As soon as we are able to allow online purchases for pins, we will let you know. Those in Calgary who are unable to attend our pin trading release party will be able to take advantage of this as well.
Please keep checking back over the next few weeks for more information. We will be moving as fast as we can as we do not want to make you wait.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding. I hope you had an amazing Otafest Aurora and I look forward to seeing you again.
